EDUCATION

After relocating to Silver Spring, Maryland, Sarthi earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park (2011-2015). With being the nation’s one of the best public engineering colleges, A James Clark School of Engineering, the knowledge earned from there built a strong fundamental of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. Computer engineers apply the principles and techniques of electrical engineering, computer science, and mathematical analysis to design, develop, test, and evaluate the software and hardware systems that enable computers to perform increasingly demanding functions.

Along with working full-time, Sarthi earned his Masters’s degree in Engineering Management in 2020 from Penn State University. The program offered was a technically focused analytical degree designed specifically to address the challenges found at the intersection of management and engineering. Penn State World Campus allowed Sarthi to finish his degree on the side of working as a professional adult in Maryland. The curriculum was intended to address the needs of individuals in coordinating and developing large interdisciplinary engineering projects in addition to the leadership of technical staff. The two-year program offers experience in the analytical approaches to solving technical and socio-technical problems, leading technical people, fostering effective teams, and managing technical projects in the presence of uncertainty and risk. With this, Sarthi was able to build managerial and leadership skills on top of strong technical engineering foundations.
